| Rajinder Mann, Executive Director of the Black Leadership Initiative®, has been awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List announced today, in recognition of her services to Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities.
With over 25 years experience in adult, youth and community education and policy development, Rajinder has an exemplary track record in promoting race equality and social justice in the sector. She is passionately committed to the principles of social inclusion, community cohesion and empowering people through education and training in order to augment economic and social regeneration.
Since 2002, Rajinder has pioneered the award winning Black Leadership Initiative®, the training and development service of the NBP, which has introduced practical programmes to enhance the career development opportunities for BAME staff.
Rajinder said: "It is a great honour and privilege to receive this OBE in recognition of services to BAME communities. It is testament to the successful work of NBP and BLI and in particular a tribute to my parents, children and colleagues who have encouraged and supported me along the journey."
