Robin Landman, the Network’s Chief Executive, has been awarded an OBE for Services to Black and Minority Ethnic Further Education in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List announced on Saturday. The whole team at the Network is delighted to congratulate Robin on this well deserved honour in recognition of his continued commitment to race equality and diversity.

Robin founded the NBP in 1998 as a social justice organisation with the aim of addressing the under-representation of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) staff in the FE sector and since its establishment, the Network has directly supported the growth in the number of BAME Principals from 2 to 13. In recent years, the work of the NBP has expanded to support BAME professionals across the further public and private sectors to achieve their full career and civic potential.

Robin commented, “I am delighted and humbled to receive this honour. I regard it as recognition of the work done by my organisation, the Network for Black Professionals, over the past decade or more to ensure that the civic leadership of Britain is reflective of the rich ethnic and cultural diversity of our population. I particularly want to pay tribute to my excellent team at the NBP and thank them for their unstinting commitment to our work.”
