The recent Ofsted inspection of West Nottinghamshire College, headed by Principal Asha Khemka, recognised the college to be 'outstanding', with all areas of the college receiving top grades. As such, the college joins a small group of elite colleges who have received such an emphatic endorsement of their work.
Inspectors found an impressive record of student success, powerful partnerships and innovative approaches to the engagement of the community in learning. The college was also applauded for its work in meeting the needs of national and local employers, with the college being the third largest provider of Train to Gain within the country. The leadership of Asha and her management team at the college was recognised to be outstanding and visionary and she commented:
"We are so proud of the College's success and of what we have achieved since the last inspection in 2005. All staff have worked tirelessly to ensure that students succeed in fulfilling their potential. This outcome is a testimony to this hard work and commitment. We are truly committed to meeting the needs of the Nottinghamshire community and at the same time providing first class training for employers, at a time when many colleges are struggling to balance their two priorities. I am the proudest principal in the whole country right now!"
The Network for Black Professionals would like to extend its congratulations to Asha for her tremendous achievement. |
